Sports & Leisure Centre progresses

In a recent letter to the West Melton Residents Association, the Selwyn District Council have notified the imminent appointment of an architect for the development of conceptual drawings for a new Sports & Leisure Centre in the village. The Selwyn District Council expects to announce details of the appointed Architect during the week of July 28.
Below is the letter received by WMRA.

Council and the Project Steering Group have appointed an Architect who will assist with the development of conceptual drawings for the new community facility to be located at the West Melton Reserve.
As part of the concept design process, the Architect will be engaging with the Project Steering Group, key stake holder and user groups to capture and gauge requirements. Earlier feedback gained through community consultation in November 2013 will feed into the design process also. There will be opportunity for the wider community to comment on the concept designs once complete..
Work on the concept plans is expected to be complete by late September 2014.
