That’s a wrap. West Melton is 150!
Labour Weekend 2014 was a monumental occasion in the history of West Melton! The town celebrated 150 years of history in grand style with a massive parade, an official ceremony, a ball, a shindig (Click here for photos) and plenty of other social events including a sport fun-day, walking tours and a mix-and-mingle with famous West Meltonites.
The entire weekend was an outrageous success, especially given the thousands who filled the streets for the grand parade and picnicked afterwards in the sun. And who could forget the fun of the field days in September (Click here for some photos), with the heritage village and demonstrations of life 150 years back.
Congratulations to the volunteers, whom for the past 18 months have given their hours and skills to drive this project right through from concept to reality. Congratulations West Melton on turning 150!
